Pakistan Association of Auto Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) and Iranian Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association have agreed to create a liaison for mutual trade benefits. The decision in this regard, was made at a meeting between PAAPAM representatives led by chairman Mashood Ali Khan and Iranian delegation led by Hamid Raza Nezarati Zadeh, Commercial and Economic Consular of Islamic Republic of Iran at the PAAPAM South Office, here.

The two delegations explored ways and means to create a liaison between Iranian Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association and their Pakistani counterparts, PAAPAM, for mutual trade benefits. In addition, the chairman PAAPAM stated during the meeting that a Pakistani delegation of auto parts manufacturers would soon be visiting Iran to enhance the capabilities in auto-engineering by getting involved in technical expertise with each other. He said that the members who were interested in any field of technology and keen to share and co-ordinate with Iranian auto parts manufacturers would be welcomed.

In another meeting, PAAPAM officials met a high-profile Chinese delegation, representing Sinotruck Limited at its South Office and discussed possible future ventures between the two countries for the manufacturing of trucks and their auto parts. The ten-member Chinese delegation was led by Wang Haotao at Sinotruck.

Chairman and senior members of PAAPAM briefed the Chinese delegation about the technologies, resources, and expertise of the Pakistani parts manufacturers in the field of trucks and the production of their auto parts. The Chinese members were also told about the growing auto industry of Pakistan, and how it was already heavily involved in the production of motorcycles, cars, buses, and trucks, and in the production and assembling of their auto parts. Wang Deqian evinced interest to utilise Pakistani expertise and labour in the production of auto parts for their trucks. Moreover, he said that they were interested in setting up a production plant for trucks in Pakistan.
