The ongoing crackdown against the Non-Custom Paid (NCP) vehicles by the political administration of Bajaur Agency has irked the tribesmen of the region and expressed fears of triggering unemployment among the transporters of the area. According to reports from different areas of the tribal agency, the ongoing crackdown launched on July 21, 2017 had not only created acute shortage of public transport in the region, but also caused serious unemployment among transporters.

The data collected by from all eight tehsils of the agency showed that more than two thousands persons associated with NCP vehicles business have been rendered unemployed following action by the authority. Most of people who have been rendered unemployed due to the ongoing action were either drivers or the owners of showrooms.

The people, privy to the situation told that majority of people who had been affected from the crackdown were belonged to various urban areas of the agency where several hundred NCP vehicles had been impounded since the launching of action.
