In the week-long festival comprising cricket, volleyball, football, badminton, tug of war, kabaddi, gymnastic competitions were held wherein players from Upper Mohmand, Lower Mohmand took part.
At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes and lauded the organizing committee for holding the event in a befitting manner. The closing ceremony was started with recitation from Holy Quran, followed by National anthem and March Past of all the participating teams.
The March past followed by traditional culture dance "Atharn", PT show, Gymnastic demonstration, Boxing and Wrestling contests. There was a stunning fire-work as well, followed by national song and different types of cattle's were also put on display.
Speaking on the occasion, Political Agent Mohmand Mehmood Aslam Wazir termed such activities very vital to show their world that peace to the area has been restored with jawans of the security forces have rendered matchless sacrifices along with the people and special youth of FATA.
He said tribal have celebrated the Independence Day with full zeal and spirit. He said the main aim and objective of the event is to give awareness to the tribal youth about the Independence Day for which our forefather given lot of sacrifices.
