Flood Warning Centre reported on Thursday that as the water flow in river Indus has crossed 4,20,000 cusecs mark, the mighty is in medium flood at Kalabagh & Chashma. The peak of flood is now heading towards downstream Taunsa barrage. The river is already in low flood at Tarbela, Taunsa & Guddu. Meanwhile, River Chenab at Khanki is also in Medium Flood Level. Chenab at Marala & Qadirabad and River Kabul at Nowshera are in Low Flood levels. Nullahs of Rivers Ravi & Chenab are likely to remain in High to Medium flood levels.

The position of water inflow/outflow in rivers at various important points is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 344600 cusecs and Outflows 317000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 62000 cusecs and Outflows 62000 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 52700 cusecs and Outflows 10000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 144900 cusecs and Outflows 124600 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 381900 cusecs and Outflows 373900 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 407100 cusecs and Outflows 407200 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 312300 cusecs and Outflows 290000 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 24700 cusecs and Outflows 9200 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 236200 cusecs and Outflows 201800 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 191900 cusecs and Outflows 136500 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 122400 cusecs and Outflows 82900.

Weather forecast for today: Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, scattered thunderstorm/rain with moderate falls at isolated places is expected over Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Malakand & Hazara divisions along with upper catchments of rivers Sutlej, Ravi & Chenab. Isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Jhelum & Indus along with Peshawar, Kohat, Lahore & D.G.Khan divisions.
