The Mayor Hyderabad Syed Tayyab Hussain Monday presented the Annual Budget 2017-2018 worth Rs 2.380 billion of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC). Presenting the annual budget, Syed Tayyab Hussain informed that the estimated income would be received through octroi tax from the government as well as special FBR grants. He informed that Rs 1323 million has been allocated for repair and renovation of HMC buildings, Rs 80 million for repair of drain lines, Rs 100 million for repair of roads, Rs 40 million for provision of fringe benefits to HMC employees and Rs 20 million has been earmarked for renovation of parks and stadiums.

During budget presentation, the HMC members from PPP-led by Pasha Qazi staged boycott and sit in outside the Mayor's office due to minimum allocation of amount for repair of drain lines, however, they later attended the session following the request of MQM members.
