A political family or political dynasty is a family in which several members are involved in politics, particularly electoral politics. It is widely argued that when the US threw off the British crown to become one of the world's first republics, it also jettisoned the belief that some people are destined to rule over others because they were born or married. But this was not the case some two hundred and forty years later in that country. So what is wrong with dynastic successions in Pakistan?
