A technician of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar reportedly sexually harassed a female patient taken to the facility for a CT scan on Sunday. While talking to newsmen here, the patient said she was in the CT scan room when the technician, Izzat Khan, sexually harassed her. Her brother said they were standing outside the room when they heard her scream. He added when they went inside the room the technician was in an objectionable state.

Subsequently, the patient's brother along with others thrashed the technician. Police also reached the site while the deputy medical superintendent of the facility tried to calm the situation down. But the patient's relatives were adamant on getting the technician jailed. They said the occurrence of such an incident is reflective of the presence of black sheep in the province's largest facility.

Eventually, a case was registered against Izzat at Khan Raziq police station and he was put behind the bars. LRH Spokesperson Zulfiqar Ali Babalkhel said the hospital administration was aware of the issue and was investigating the matter. The patient was brought to LRH from Malakand Agency. She is a mother of five and was taken to the district headquarters hospital in Batkhela after a head injury. But the doctors there referred her to LRH in Peshawar.
