During a meeting with secretary general of Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Salah-ud-Din here Saturday he said that the total volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and China is around 20 billion dollars. The economic stability in China has not only increased its per capita income but also enhanced the purchasing power of the Chinese people. Hence, we should immediately concentrate on this market to get due share from this available opportunity under CPEC.
Ahmad Hasan said that most of the Pakistani Industrialists are handicapped to start joint venture in collaboration with Chinese companies only because of huge difference between their scales of economy. "We cannot fulfill the demands and expectations of the Chinese giants," he said and added that Pakistani Industrialists should focus on SME sector of China and pick from amongst them a match-able company for their future joint ventures. He said that SME sector of China is very huge and Pakistani Industrialists could easily get a reasonable partner from it.
He also appreciated the efforts of Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry for arranging the study tour for Kashgar and said that it will help Pakistani businessmen to fully understand the Chinese markets and also choose a suitable partner to launch joint venture. Engineer Ahmad Hasan said that Pakistan will make progress at a much faster pace due to CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) and it is in this regard that FCCI has launched a Chinese Language course to bridge the gap between Pakistani and Chinese entrepreneurs.
Earlier, secretary general Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Salah-ud-Din said that the study tour of Kashgar will be from July 29 to August 06. "It will travel on the traditional CPEC Route by road and during this visit the participants of this study tour will visit Kashgar and other Chambers of Commerce and Industry in addition to visiting free export zone in Kashgar," he said and added that they will also have an opportunity to have face to face meetings with Chinese investors and pick a suitable partner to launch joint venture.
Salah-ud-Din told that the border of Kashgar is attached with 7 neighboring countries and through it investors can target the markets of all these countries. Similarly China is a member of Eurasia and any investor could make custom free export to these countries by establishing any industrial unit in China. He further told that around 4000 Chinese are working on different projects in Punjab at present and their numbers are expected to jump to 250,000 within next couple of years.
