They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the telecasting PTV Urdu comic program "Hasna Mana Hai" (laughing is prohibited) and in favour of their demands. They raised voices against federal government, PTV Managing Director and producer and host of the program. Talking to media persons, the participants said that it was completely disrespectful and insult of Pakhtuns that calling them as terrorist, smuggler, and snuff eater by host Jawad Hassan in the program.
The demonstrators called for immediate imposition of ban on the program. They also demanded the dismissal of Managing Director PTV, and producer of the program, to prevent on-airing of such program, insisting hatred, insulting and humiliation of people belonging to any language.
The protesters said that federal government, Prime Minister, President of Pakistan, and law enforcement agencies should take prompt action against the performers and host of the program. They warned that if their demands were not fulfilled, they would hold protest demonstrations across the country.
Later, according to a protester, they held a meeting with senior officials of Pakistan Television Corporation in Peshawar office and expressed their resentment over on-airing of insulting remarks by Jawad Hassan against Pakhtuns during the program. They also presented a number of demands before the officials. He said the officials assured that they will take the issue with high managing in an appropriate manner.
