Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Dr Mohammad Irshad Wednesday paid a farewell visit to Customs House, Peshawar where he was welcomed by Collector Qurban Ali Khan, Additional Collectors, Syed Fazal Samad, Rashid Habib, Member FBR Sher Nawaz Khan, deputy, assistant collectors and others. On arrival, the FBR Chairman was also presented a guard of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the FBR Chairman appreciated the performance of Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar and said that this collectorate is not only collecting big revenue, but also playing a crucial role against the menace of smuggling. He said whatever was required by the JIT in connection with Panamagate probe has been provided and that there is no reality in the reports of tampering with the record. He said he is in Islamabad and whatever they demand would be provided to them (JIT).

Dr Irshad said he had sought two chief collectorates and 9 new collectorates across the country and was hoping that they will be approved within a period of two weeks. He said he also want to bring a post of chief collector to the Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar.
