Vice chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi lashed at Punjab government over improper health facilities in the province and claimed it had discriminatory attitude towards Southern Punjab. Talking to the media after visiting hospitals to inquire about health of the burnt persons in Bahawalpur, the PTI leader regretted that there was not a single burn unit in any hospital of south Punjab except a small 14 bed burn unit in Nishtar Hospital Multan. If there had burn units in south Punjab hospitals, many precious would have been saved.

He said PML-N government has been busy in so-called mega projects like metro busses, metro train, but it had completely ignored the health and education facilities for the people of South Punjab.

Meanwhile PTI chairman Imran Khan has asked his party leadership to be present in area to immediately assess what assistance can be provided to the injured and families of victims.

He is reported to have cancelled all his engagements for his visit to Bahawalpur to inquire about welfare of the injured persons and condole with the families of the victims.
