The Karachi Port handled 117,826 tonnes of cargo comprising 94,518 tonnes of import cargo and 23,308 tonnes of export cargo including 6,223 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 94,518 tonnes comprised of 35,791 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,397 tonnes of general cargo; 34,130 tonnes of bulk cargo: 23,940 tonnes of coal; 7,980 tonnes of fertilizer; 2,210 tonnes of soyabean meal and 19,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 23,308 tonnes comprised of 19,561 tonnes of containerised cargo; 302 tonnes of general cargo and 3,445 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,223 containers comprising of 2,819 containers import and 3,404 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 879 of 20's and 948 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 21 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 487 of 20's and 425 of 40's loaded containers while 605 of 20's and 731 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were six ships namely Tubul, Prosper, Kota Lahir, Mid Falcon, Calix and Hyperion Highway carrying containers, oil takner, meal and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Prosper, YM Cypress and Ocean Princess carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

There were two ships namely Nautical Marie and Trans Autumn carrying DAP and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while another ship namely Sinar Kutai carrying coal is expected to sail on Thursday.

There were six vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, MSC Federica, Thuringa, Bellavia, MT Karachi and Viking Coral carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four vessels viz. Vania, Serser, Daiwan Fortune and Le He carrying containers, steel and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 137,185 tonnes comprising 109,255 tonnes of import cargo and 27,930 tonnes of export cargo including 2,766 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 109,255 tonnes includes 47,000 tonnes of LNG; 5,242 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,500 tonnes of palm oil; 6,931 tonnes of soyabean; 9,668 tonnes of coal; 8,854 tonnes of chemical; 1,436 tonnes of project cargo and 24,624 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 27,930 tonnes includes 27,930 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,766 containers comprising of 1,296 containers import and 1,470 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely MT NCC Maha carrying palm oil sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely MV Eternal Triumph and MV Mid Nature carrying bulk cargo and chemical respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV New Ark, CV MSC Algeciras, CV Northern Monnument, MV Eternal Triumph, MV Nord Leader, MV Calipso, MV Mid Nature, MT Maran Gas Ascleplus, MT Pacific Panama, MT NCC Maha and MT Cerulean currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, general cargo, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as twenty-two ships namely MV Sea Con-6, MV Star Trader, MV Safizaya Diaono, MV Fidias, MV Yang Ze LO, MV Golden Cat Harine, MV Friendly Seas, MV Nautical Alice, MV Bao An Ling, MV Sea Ambition, MV Sea Delta, MV YM Miranda, MT White Pearl, MT Maga Rita, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Bahra, MT Bneider, MT Jag Lavanya, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Banga Angelica, MT Rainbow Island and MT Argent Daisy carrying steel coil, chemical, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four vessels viz. CV MSC Sao Paulo, MV Bao An Ling, MV Sea Ambition and MT Argent Daisy carrying containers, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There were five ships namely CV MSC Sao Paulo, CV Tempanos, MV Bow Sagami, MV BBC Ursa and MV Southern Ibis carrying containers, soyabean and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while three ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, CV MSC Mestine and MV Neutrino carrying containers and coal respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
