The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party(PPDWP) has approved construction of a 128-bed Mother & Child Care Hospital, Murree at the cost of Rs 4.157 billion. Official sources told Business Recorder that in view of hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to this beautiful hill station with their families from all over the country to escape from the sweltering heat during the summer and enjoy heavenly surroundings of this resort, the government has decided to set up a state of the art mother and childcare hospital to provide the tourists best medical treatment in case of any emergency while visiting Murree Hill Station.

The PPDWP also approved construction of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery Block at B V Hospital Bahawalpur (Revised) at the cost of Rs 1707.684 million and Effective Pest Management in Cotton Crop through subsidized provision of spray machines in core cotton districts of Punjab at the cost of Rs 151.666 million. These schemes were approved in the 77th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over the Chairman P&D Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan. Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, All Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
