The Karachi Port handled 112,299 tonnes of cargo comprising 88,433 tonnes of import cargo and 23,866 tonnes of export cargo during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 88,433 tonnes comprised of 30,835 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,166 tonnes of general cargo; 48,632 tonnes of bulk cargo: 40,614 tonnes of coal; 2,819 tonnes of seeds; 5,199 tonnes of rock phosphate and 7,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 23,866 tonnes comprised of 17,816 tonnes of containerised cargo and 6,050 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were three ships namely Ever Diamond, CSC Brave and St Johannis carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were two vessels viz. Torm Ismini and Torm Trinity carrying oil tankers respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Wide India and Da Fu carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while three ships namely YM Orchid, MTM Hamburg and MSC Federica carrying containers respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.

There were two vessels Cosco Fukuyama and MT Lahore carrying containers and oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Friday while three vessels viz. MSC Chiara, Hamburg Bay and Prosper carrying containers respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 121,420 tonnes comprising 91,609 tonnes of import cargo and 29,811 tonnes of export cargo including 2,895 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The total import cargo of 91,609 tonnes includes 30,000 tonnes of furnace oil; 16,000 tonnes of LNG; 701 tonnes of LPG; 5,413 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 10,500 tonnes of coal; 3,801 tonnes of project cargo and 25,194 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 29,811 tonnes includes 29,811 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,895 containers comprising of 1,326 containers import and 1,569 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There was one ship namely MT Umm Bab carrying LNG sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely MT Epic Samos carrying LPG is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Maersk Salina, CV MSC Algeciras, MV Da De, MV Orient Rise, MV Iris-II, MT Epic Samos, MT Umm Bab and MT Quetta currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, soyabean seeds, LPG, LNG and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as thirteen ships namely CV Uni Florida, CV Tempanos, MV Dione, MV African Finfoot, MV Chang Shan Hai, MV Asia Emerald-II, MV Iris Oldendorff, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Maistros, MT Formosa, MT Silver Philipa, MT Bneinder and MT Quetta carrying containers, soyabean, coal, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were two vessels viz. CV Uni Florida and CV Tempanos carrying containers respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Friday.

There were four ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, MV Fan Zhou-9, MV Clipper Tcnacious and MT Lion-M carrying containers, project cargo, slag and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday. There are two ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami and MV YM Mirinda carrying containers and chemical due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely CV NYK Furano and MV Freedom Line carrying containers and coal due to arrive on Sunday. There are two ships namely CV Al-Manamah and CV MSC Veronique carrying containers due to arrive on Monday.
