The Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi here Friday inaugurated the Hyderabad Engineering Support Center (HESC) at Small Industrial Estate Extension. Speaking on the occasion, the minister congratulated Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDC) and Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry for timely completing the HESC project.

Jatoi acknowledged that in the realm of the industrial and technical development Pakistan's ranking was not satisfactory in the world. "At the global level the share of hi-tech and medium-tech goods was 60 percent. But in Pakistan, the situation is altogether different," he observed, adding that the technical standard of 70 percent products in

Pakistan was either of the basic standards or lowers. Therefore, he said, the federal government decided to promote modern technology in the industries through TUSDC. "This will help the industrial production of Pakistan get its due place in the local and international markets," he hoped.
