The total import cargo of 130,815 tonnes comprised of 66,263 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18,630 tonnes of general cargo and 29,004 tonnes of bulk cargo: 28,800 tonnes of coal; 204 tonnes of urea and 16,918 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,934 tonnes comprised of 26,754 tonnes of containerised cargo; 360 tonnes of general cargo and 820 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 8,904 containers comprising of 4,554 containers import and 4,350 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,667 of 20's and 1,355 of 40's loaded while 23 of 20's and 77 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 715 of 20's and 266 of 40's loaded containers while 739 of 20's and 1,182 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely UAFL Zanzibar, Sima Genesis, Maersk Trenton, MT Lahore, Oriental Rose, Aurelia, Asia Majesty and BBC Germany carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. MOL Endowment, Sima Genesis, Sea Ploeg, African Osprey, African Finfoot, Han Yi, Heilan Star and Sun Master carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Sima Genesis, N Mars, EM Coral and Aquamarin carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while four ships namely MOL Endowment, KMTC Dubai, Royal Fairness and Han Yi carrying containers, coal and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There were three vessels viz. Al-Farahidi, Alexandria Bridge and Da De carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 114,181 tonnes includes 43,708 tonnes of diesel oil; 1,446 tonnes of LPG; 4,760 tonnes of palm oil; 20,050 tonnes of coal; 2,815 tonnes of chemical and 41,402 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,349 tonnes includes 39,349 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,250 containers comprising of 2,179 containers import and 2,071 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were two ships namely MT Al Dasma and MT Rich Sino carrying diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV APL Charleston, MV Marcos-1 and MT North Gas carrying containers, chemical and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Northern Magnum, CV Conti Annapurna, CV APL Charleston, MV Bao Can Ling, MV Trade Unity, MV Marcos-1, MT North Gas, MT Al Dasma and MT Rich Sino currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten ships namely MV Dione, MV Chang Shan Hai, MT Globe Tanya, MT Aris-II, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Maistros, MT Formosa, MT Al-Salam-II, MT CH Zephyr and MT Al-Mere carrying soyabean, coal, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Mehuin, MT CH Zephyr and MT Al-Mere carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were five ships namely CV Mehun, CV MSC Rechele, CV New Ark, MV Sea Elegant and MT Epic Samos carrying containers, chemical and LPG respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
There are two ships namely CV San Francisca and CV Hansa Africa carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday, while another ship namely CV Nicoline Maersk carrying containers is due to arrive on Saturday.
