The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized Rs 25 million smuggled items during the month of April 2017. The smuggled items seized by the ASO included cigarettes, Gutka, cloth, soft juice, Toyota Surf Jeeps, ceramic tiles and smart mobile phone sets. The ASO conducted its operations on the directions of the Chief Collector Central and MCC Preventive Lahore Collector in order to curb the menace of smuggling in Lahore. The ASO staff intercepted 550 mobile phone sets of assorted models of Samsung brand worth Rs 8.5 million from a passenger train arrived from Karachi.

It also intercepted a truck loaded with ceramic tiles 28-tons of Iran origin coming from Quetta and another bus loaded with miscellaneous goods was intercepted at Shera KOT Babu Sabu interchange that had arrived from Peshawar.
