Sindh Excise and Taxation department has recovered substantial revenue of Rs 13.86 million on account of motor vehicle tax and penalties during road checking campaign in Sindh. This was disclosed during a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, here Thursday.

The E&T officials during meeting informed that around 24673 vehicles were checked in Sindh during Road Checking Campaign started from March 20 and ended on April 3, 2017 that led the recovery of Rs 13.86 million on account of motor vehicle tax and penalties.

Secretary ET&NC Abdul Haleem Shaikh and Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also attended the meeting. Meanwhile, DG Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui apprised that in Karachi 12758 were checked while 4517 vehicles in Hyderabad, 2487 vehicles in Sukkur, 1875 vehicles in Larkana, 2423 vehicles in Mirpurkhas and 1845 vehicles in Shaheed Benazirabad were inspected.
