"The Ice Cream Man Cometh."

"The correct title is The Iceman Cometh and it's a great play by Eugene O'Neil. It's about nine or so dreamers who lead a very unproductive life though they dream of big things and one man in the play visits the saloon twice a year where these drifters meet and tells them to stop being delusional and..." "Oye, you are obtuse today? Did you party too much on Pakistan Day?"

"I reckon you were referring to a high level gentleman and if so beware: you may be liable for defamation." "High-level indeed, but with no powers... And I am not sure whether a notice would scare me. I have heard of so many notices being issued lately and then nothing - I am not a lawyer, but I reckon a notice is a threat of legal action and if you are not the type to be scared of a notice then you say to the notice issuer file the petition and I haven't heard of any progress on that count notably whether any filer to date has won a defamation case or not."

"That's because filers as per The Approver pay a lot less than non filers - be it payment of taxes or relying on threat alone, with implicit money saving on lawyers." "Don't be facetious... but the notices seek an apology or else payment of not millions but billions of rupees compensation and...."

"Well, see our politicians are rather rich by now and think in billions not millions." "Hmmm, there was a notice issued by The Approver's son, one by Shahbaz Sharif, one by the Man Who Shall Remain Nameless and I never heard its outcome though it's been quite awhile."

"Hey, the Man Who Shall Remain Nameless has considerable clout you know - I mean our Chaudhry Sahib of the Interior Ministry rarely backs down and he did at what was clearly an untenable position by the Nameless One namely that the PCB does the investigation and not the FIA on cricketers..."

"But the extent of power is reflected by approval of an untenable position."

"True, so now FIA and PCB would both conduct the investigation."

"Does the expression too many cooks spoil the broth apply?"

"Perhaps two heads are better than one."

"Depends on the heads I say... if it's Mian sahib, one head alone (OHA) is enough, if it is Chaudhry sahib then too one head is enough though on occasion the head accepts another but only if the OHA so directs."

"Such is the decision-making process of all our political parties."
