Moreover, he said the E&T Department was also going to commence Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based survey for improving collection of property tax by April 1, 2017 in Sukkur. He said the E&T Department has signed an agreement with a private firm for conducting GIS-based survey in Sukkur to improve the collection of property tax by April 1, 2017.
He said this would be a model survey and complete in a year and later, the same would be extended across Sindh. He added that GIS-based survey across Sindh would take at least three years for completion. He said the E&T Department presently collected only Rs 1.5 billion on account of property tax and after the GIS-based survey in Sindh, the revenue collection would likely to be increased by 300 percent.
