The Karachi Port handled 108,163 tonnes of cargo comprising 80,654 tonnes of import cargo and 27,509 tonnes of export cargo including 3,998 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 80,654 tonnes comprised of 50,413 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,934 tonnes of general cargo and 22,307 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 27,509 tonnes comprised of 23,009 tonnes of containerised cargo and 4,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,998 containers comprising of 2,762 containers import and 1,236 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,228 of 20's and 716 of 40's loaded while 08 of 20's and 47 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 221 of 20's and 302 of 40's loaded containers while 233 of 20's and 89 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were thirteen ships namely Maersk Stepnica, Al Farahidi, YM Excellence, Cosco Sao Paulo, Mohar, SC Qingdao, Tromso, Oriental Protea, IVS Windsor, Mare Tracer, Ever Win, Ardmore Seatrader and Uni Auc One carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were eight vessels viz. Prosper, APL Japan, Ital Milione, MSC Busan, Selin-D, TEO, Ever Win and Da Hong Xia carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

There were three ships namely Al Dasma, Selin-D and Eastern Light carrying oil tanker, chemical and steel respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely Ital Milione carrying containers is expected to sail on Tuesday. There were six vessels viz. Newark, Chemway Lara, Rui Dong, Asavari, River Eternity and Yuan Hai carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 125,770 tonnes comprising 89,499 tonnes of import cargo and 36,271 tonnes of export cargo including 3,520 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 89,499 tonnes includes 45,000 tonnes of LNG; 3,880 tonnes of chemical; l0,010 tonnes of coal and 30,609 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 36,271 tonnes includes 36,271 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,520 containers comprising of 1,611 containers import and 1,909 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There was one ship namely CV Newark carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely CV MSC Capri and CV TG Poseidon carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day. A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Newark, CV MSC Capri, CV TG Poseidon, MV IVS Windsor, MV Gaschem Antartic, MV YM Miranda MT Nordic Gas and MT UMM Bab currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, LPG and LNG respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as nine ships namely CV Al Kharj, MV Jambo Javelin, MV Erika Schulte, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Karachi, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1 and Bunga Akasa carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four vessels viz. CV Al Kharj, CV MSC Silvana, MV Jambo Javelin and MV Erika Schulte carrying containers, project cargo and chemical expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Maersk Innoshima, CV CMA CGM Corneille, CV MSC Silvana and CV MSC Mykonos carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Monday. There is one ship namely CV Maersk Memphis carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
