The idea of an Abilities Expo came from the need to create a stronger, more effective platform for the largely marginalized disabled community of Pakistan. This annual event will be used to publicly voice and share their concerns, showcase their abilities and skills to the world, and find solutions readily available in Pakistan, to their various special needs.

Abilities Expo is a resource fair for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) held annually around the world in countries aiming to provide equal opportunities to everyone in the community leading to a more inclusive society. KVTC's vision was to bring the same idea to Pakistan and create a go-to source for PWDs, providing abilities enhancing products and services, employment and partnership opportunities for PWDs, their families, caregivers, Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools, welfare organizations, healthcare professionals, and bridging the gap between services for PWDs in the public and private sector.

We are extremely grateful to the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah for supporting our vision and directing his team to strategize and streamline Abilities Expo 2017. We sincerely appreciate and thank the Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) in Sindh, esteemed members of the Corporate Sector, the Pakistan Air Force, and all the other partners for coming forward and joining hands with us to make this event a reality. All of this would not have been possible without the support and commitment of Dr Zulfiqar AIi Shallwani, Secretary Special Education Department, Government of Sindh. It was due to strong devotion, sincerity, and dedication of Dr Shallwani and his team towards the cause, that the Abilities Expo is now promising to become Pakistan's largest unified resource platform for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). We earnestly hope that the resolve of the Government of Sindh remains as resolute as it is today, and we humbly thank the Honorable Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, all the good offices of Government of Sindh for unwavering and unlimited support. This expo will finally be able to galvanize the fragmented efforts of public and private organizations to create an effective & efficient support system for all PWDs across the Nation.
