The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scrutinised the annual declarations of assets of as many as 100 parliamentarians. An official of ECP said that the scrutiny process of assets' declarations filed by parliamentarians, started from December 01 and scrutiny of more than 100 MNAs has been completed. The political finance wing of ECP is carrying out scrutiny in collaboration with the FBR, Auditor General, provincial revenue departments, FIA and other institutions.

The ECP sources said that scrutiny process in respect of assets of the members of National Assembly, provincial assemblies and Senate commenced on December 01, 2016. Sources said the political finance wing and confidential wing of ECP were merged and given the shape of a full-fledged directorate. This directorate is working directly under the Election Commission.
