As we know taking credit means to allow people to believe that you have done something, whether it is true or false. According to media reports, former President Pervez Musharraf has claimed that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was his idea. According to him, he has initiated the Gwadar Port project, and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was also his idea.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari, too, has made a similar claim. The present PML-N government, which came to power following the 2013 general elections, is basking under the glory of CPEC. Its narrative is therefore largely characterised by infrastructure creation which has acquired a new meaning with the launch of CPEC projects. There is no doubt about the fact that CPEC, which has been widely termed a 'game changer', enjoys entire nation's backing. Our rulers - past and present - are therefore free to take credit insofar as CPEC is concerned, but they must not bicker.
