Rawalpindi's Regional Tax Office announced Wednesday that it has seized over 300 bales of processed tobacco. According to official sources, the department had received information that a huge quantity of processed tobacco was stocked inside four warehouses at Chakwal Road. The tobacco was ready to be manufactured as cigarette without payment of taxes.

The sources said that a team of RTO officials raided the warehouses and seized over 300 bales of processed tobacco and all four warehouses were sealed after the recovery of the contraband item. The sources said that the bales were enough for manufacturing over 400 million cigarettes, worth around Rs 700 million.
