Two-day momentum tech conference and exhibition will be held on February 6th and 7th, 2017 at Expo Center Karachi While, addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club here on Tuesday, Syed Amir Jafri, Momentum Pakistan's Co-founder and CEO said that Momentum Pakistan 2017 is first ever premier gathering of the brightest minds and top entrepreneurs, investors, incubators/accelerators, academic institutions, mobile network operators, financial institutions, tech companies, government officials and media in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan's population will soon touch 200 million and about 4 million people are trying to enter the job market and there are not going to be enough jobs. "Addressing this problem by bringing the elements of telecom, investors, incubators, startups and universities together, we are organising a conference called Momentum", he added.

He informed that the event focuses on providing top-notch education through keynote speakers; both national and international, topic driven panels, fireside chats, inspirational stories, pitch competition, networking events and last but not the least showcases the latest innovative products and services from leading local startups from which 3 finalist of the pitch competition will qualify to the final stage to battle out to be awarded "Winner of pitch at Momentum 2017" and win an award of Rs 2 million.

Momentum Pakistan is excited to partner with global technology giants such as Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Acumen and Enclude. The participating startups at Momentum will now have access to programs and assistance from our strategic partners, and Amazon web services credit and Microsoft Azure cloud services for qualifying startups, Amir said.

"We are excited to bring these partnership and support from Silicon Valley entrepreneurs to Pakistan to increase global support to Pakistani startups. Our strategic partnership will help leading startups working on innovative products and services succeed within and outside Pakistan", he added.

He said that world-wide fourth industrial revolution is coming in which small groups are forming their own companies and employing people. And this is what startups are about; solving problems in an innovative manner by coming up with new business models, using technology. Thus, if we establish 1000 startups every year through momentum whereby each employ 10 to 50 people, we will create about 50,000 jobs per year.

The 2-day startup conference and exhibition is a must-attend for iconoclastic doers from around Pakistan who share a common interest to build a strong and nurturing eco system for startups in Pakistan. Momentum Pakistan will foster idea generation and dialogue around innovation and the exclusive event featuring over 5000 attendees and 175+ startups aim at tapping into the massive growth potential of Pakistan by promoting, showcasing and inspiring the young entrepreneurs of Pakistan, he said.
