The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has issued a recovery notice to the University of Punjab against a default of Rs 148 million under the head of sales tax. In case of default, said the PRA sources, the notice would follow freezing of bank accounts of the University for recovery Purposes. The University had failed to deduct 16 percent sales tax from the contractors against construction work payments worth Rs 930 million.
