The tax directory issued by Federal Board of Revenue for tax year 2015 on Friday revealed names of top corporate tax payers including Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) with Rs 26,078,834,683, followed by Habib Bank Ltd of Rs 13,640,853,999, and Government Holding (Pvt) Ltd with Rs 11,363,438,285.

Among other top tax payers in banking sector included United Bank Limited with tax payment of Rs 9,102,383,360, Allied Bank of Pakistan Ltd (Rs 8,489, 951, 410), Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (Rs 3,292,756,013), Habib Metropolitan Bank Ltd (Rs 2,852,998, 076), Askari Bank Ltd (Rs 1,397,323, 713), Meezan Bank Limited (Rs 1,439,970,813), National Bank of Pakistan (Rs 2,046,614,535) and Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Limited (Rs 3,444,588,699).

In energy sector, top tax payers are United Energy Pakistan Limited paid Rs 7,445,246,996, Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (Rs 6,730,207,608), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (Rs 6,433,039,020), Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (Rs 5,499,538,705), Attock Petroleum Ltd (Rs 1,459,021,444), Mari Petroleum Company Limited (Rs 1,229,946,368), National Refinery Limited (Rs 1,459,131,215), , Pakistan Oilfields Limited (Rs 2,471,551,733),), Premier Oil Pakistan Kadanwari Limited (Rs 1,126,210,691) and Shell Pakistan Limited (Rs 1,166,833,321).

In auto sector, top tax payers companies are Indus Motor Company with tax of Rs 4,614,464,331 and Millat Tractors Limited of Rs 1,226,983,237. Top tax companies in cement sector include Kohat Cement Company Limited of paid tax of Rs 1,463,185,034 and Lucky Cement Limited of Rs 2,307,448,621. Top tax paying companies in telecom sector are Pakistan Telecommunication Authority paid a tax of Rs 4,099,991,326, Telenor Communications (private) Limited (Rs 1,423,170,667) and Telenor Pakistan (private) Limited Rs 3,020,783,526.

Other companies which are top tax paying companies include Abbott Laboratories Pakistan Ltd (Rs 1,374,958,454), Huawei Technologies Pakistan (pvt) Ltd (Rs 1,470,387,111), Kirthar Pakistan B. V. (Rs 2,202,763,926), Nestle Pakistan Limited (Rs 3,417,048,334), Agha Khan Fund for Economic Development S.A (Rs 1,073,817,218), Karachi International Container Terminal Limited (Rs 1,470,901,907), Pakistan International Container Terminal Limited (Rs 1,207,685,331), Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (private) Limited (Rs 1,104,791,889), Pepsi-Cola International (private) Limited (Rs 2,553,686,498), Qasim International Container Terminal Pakistan Limited of (Rs 1,379,102,268), Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited (Rs 1,252,710,313), Tapal Tea (private) Limited (Rs 1,214,943,742), Unilever Pakistan Limited (Rs 2,421,305,089) and Tetra Pak (Pakistan) Limited (Rs 1,433,942,646). In tobacco sector, Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited paid tax of Rs 2,014,044,649 during tax year 2015 as compare to tax payment of Rs 118,924,543 by Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited.
