Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) at IBA is planning to organise an International Islamic Finance Conference in Karachi on September 5 and 6. World Islamic Finance Forum (WIFF) 2016 is a unique conference being organised by CEIF IBA to bring together researchers, academicians and practitioners for generating innovative ideas to stimulate Islamic Finance growth while overcoming present day industry challenges.

This academic cum industry conference is designed to highlight the roadmap for future taking into consideration macroeconomic goals, business needs, social objectives, capacity building requirements, standardisation issues, legal and Shari'ah implications.

Key personalities from the global Islamic finance arena have agreed to participate in the conference to jointly carve out the roadmap for the Islamic Finance industry. Participants from USA, Malaysia, Bahrain and Jeddah will be attending the conference.

Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Director CEIF and SEVP Meezan Bank said the conference was designed to bring the academia and industry close together enabling solutions oriented research. He emphasised that that would also build the image of country and would be a good platform to show case the country's achievements in the field of Islamic Finance. He informed that the conference was being organised in collaboration with leading Islamic Financial Institutions of the country and abroad. With the support of multiple leading educational institutions, CEIF planned to take that opportunity to provide researches, academics and industry practitioners the ability to present their papers which might lead to the growth and change of the Islamic Finance landscape in Pakistan, he added.

Ahmed said CEIF was IBA's platform for discovery, enhancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of Islamic Finance. The Centre works towards becoming a world class one which, through education and research, carries on IBA's legacy of thought leadership in the Islamic Finance industry, he said.

CEIF offerred Executive Learning Programmes from basic courses on Islamic Finance to advanced technical courses, Public Awareness Seminars, Distinguished Leadership Dialogues and the Product Development and Shariah Compliance Forum and was soon going to offer Degree Programme in Islamic Banking & Finance (MS), Ahmed mentioned.
