Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors Association of Pakistan has rejected the budget 2016-17 on Saturday. They termed the budget as anti-business. They demanded that the government should immediately announce abolishment of General Sales Tax on import duty of LPG.

Chairman LPG Distributors Irfan Khokhar said this while addressing a press conference along with information secretary Attique Khan at Lahore Press Club. They also said that they had written a letter to the prime minister and the ministry of petroleum regarding increase in the demand of LPG due to the shortage of Sui gas in the country. They also demanded that government should announce Ramazan package for LPG industry in order to maintain the prices of LPG. They showed their apprehension that if the government will not announce the abolishment of General Sales Tax on import duty of LPG the prices of LPG will cross Rs 300 per kg in winter.

They also said that the government had not announced any relief for the industry. They said that due to anti-LPG industry policies of the government the industry has reached on the verge of collapse. They also demanded that chief minister Punjab should immediately take action against harassing of LPG sale point owners by the police. They said that they are ready to cooperate with the government regarding adopting safety measures at the sale points. They demanded that government should take action against the illegal manufacturing of substandard cylinders in the country.
