The solo international exhibition of selected art work of prominent Pakistani artist and social crusader Jimmy Engineer has kicked off quite impressively at the Singapore Art House in the Old Parliament Building in Singapore. On display in the major art show by any Pakistani artist in Singapore are canvass prints of 70 selected paintings of Jimmy Engineer including his famous Pakistan Movement series and architectural compositions projecting cultural and historical heritage of Pakistan, India and other countries.

The exhibition, organised by the Pakistan High Commission in association with local organisations, is scheduled to continue till June 25, according to a message reached here from Singapore on Friday. Artist Jimmy Engineer and Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Javed Hassan were present at the inaugural function to receive pretty large number of guests including artists, art students and people from all walks of life as well as a number of foreign diplomats in Singapore besides Pakistani community members, according to the message.

A number of visitors to the exhibition afterwards told Jimmy Engineer and High Commissioner Syed Javed Hassan that they were not only impressed a lot by viewing the art work of the Pakistani artist enjoying international reputation but also have a better understanding and knowledge about soft, positive, moderate and progressive image of Pakistan and its peace loving people. They said more such opportunities should be provided to them in future also which would help them know still more about Pakistan whose people are fighting extremism, militancy and terrorism and paying heavy price for that, the message added.
