Petroleum Ministry approved an increase of Rs 0.77 to Rs 1.35 per litre in prices of petroleum products and Rs 0.40 to Rs 0. 47 per kg in price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) following increase in the General Sales Tax (GST). The new prices would be effective with immediate effect. The price of petrol has been increased by Rs 0.86 per litre to Rs 100.53 from Rs 99.77. The price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 0.90 to Rs 105.50.

The price of petrol was increased by Rs 0.86 per litre from Rs 99.77 to Rs 100.63 per litre, High Octane Blending Component (HOBC) by Rs 1.35 per litre from Rs 124.41 to Rs 125.76 per litre, Kerosene oil by Rs 0.80 per litre from Rs 93.79 to Rs 94.59 per litre, High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 0.90 per litre from Rs 104.60 to Rs 105.50 per litre and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) by Rs 0.77 per litre from Rs 89.13 to Rs 89.90 per litre.

The price of petroleum products has been increased after GST was raised by one percent in the budget. The government has also raised the price of CNG in region-I, which consists of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Potohar by Rs 0.47 per kg from Rs 74.50 to Rs 74.91 per kg and in region-II, which consists of Punjab and Sindh, CNG price was increased by Rs 0.40 per kg to Rs 66.18 from 65.78 per kg.
