High Commissioner of Australia to Pakistan Peter Heyward has assured Pakistan's dairy sector stakeholders to share his country's unparalleled expertise in agricultural research, innovation, improvement in animal genetics and health with Pakistani entrepreneurs and businessmen working in this sector.

He was speaking at a promotional function organised jointly by the Australian HC, in alliance with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Rural Exports (Austrex) for Pakistan's developing Dairy and Livestock sector on the other day.

Speaking at the event, the High Commissioner assured Australia's unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the Dairy and Livestock sector of the country. He said that his government was happy to share Australia's unparalleled expertise in Agricultural Research, Innovation, improvement in animal genetics and health with Pakistani entrepreneurs and businessmen working in the sector and looked forward to the day when it would benefit everyone.

Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashood, thanked the Australian HC and said that the government of Punjab was working tirelessly to improve the economic conditions of the people of the province. He said that the Agricultural and Livestock sectors were the backbone of not just Punjab's economy but of the whole country and any assistance that could be offered to bolster growth would be a welcome boon for the entire nation.

Punjab Minister for Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh also spoke on the occasion and thanked Australian government for extending support to Pakistan's dairy sector. He also threw light on achievements made by the Punjab government in promotion of livestock and agriculture sectors.

Honorary Consul of Australia for Punjab, Salim Ghauri, thanked the HC Peter Heyward as well as the Chief Minister of Punjab for their role in the economic uplift of the country as a whole. He stated that Pakistan has a vast pool of as yet untapped potential which, if cultivated, could result in a sharp upsurge in local food security as well as exports. The function was attended by numerous agriculturists, livestock farmers, businessmen and entrepreneurs from the Dairy Sector who shared their views, problems and experiences with the Australian HC and Chief Minister.
