Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf has said that by following the true teachings of Islam‚ we can establish an exemplary society based on social justice and equality. Addressing the annual Seerat-un-Nabi Conference in Islamabad ‚ he said no society can survive without social justice and equality and we need to implement them in letter and spirit to avoid anarchy and chaos.

He said "we will have to follow Holy Prophet Muhammad's [Peace Be Upon Him] message of peace‚ tolerance and humanity to steer the country out of all challenges and improve our image in the comity of nations." He said Islam negates terrorism‚ extremism and sectarianism and abhors those who spread anarchy in the society. He said Islam does not allow anybody to impose their self-concocted wills on the people which have nothing to do with Islam.

He said Eid Miladun Nabi is not merely a religious festival but it also reminds us to reaffirm commitment to adopt the philosophy and principles of Islam for the establishment of society based on justice‚ tolerance and mutual respect. The Prime Minister said Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He said killers of humanity and innocent people are the real terrorists. Raja Pervez Ashraf said today terrorism is the biggest threat to Pakistan. He said we have to solve the problems of extremism and terrorism through collective wisdom‚ tolerance‚ logic and reasoning.

He said Pakistanis are a peaceful and peace loving nation and we must give this message to the world. Reiterating his opposition to drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan‚ he said these are counter-productive. He said we have opposed drone attacks on each and every forum and will continue to do so.

Religious Affairs Minister Syed Khurshid Shah in his address of welcome urged for understanding of the true shade of the Islamic teachings. He said Islam is the religion, which gives equal rights to all without any discrimination. He said with the provision of justice we would be able to move quickly towards progress and prosperity. Addressing working session of the National Seerat Conference titled 'Importance of collective justice concept in light of teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)' Ulema and religious scholars were unanimous that peace could be maintained only by ensuring justice and equality among all segments of society.

They said that equivalence‚ evenness and punishing the culprit without bothering about his caste or creed are the key for establishing a peaceful society and achieving success in the world and hereafter.

They said Islam‚ which is a religion of peace‚ brotherhood and co-existence‚ provides complete guidance to Muslims in every sphere of life. They were of the view that solution to every problem is found in the Holy Quran and the Muslims should seek guidance from the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to resolve their problems. A large number of Ulema representing different schools of thought and ambassadors attended the Seerat Conference.
