Talking to local newsmen, he said, "Elections will be held on time. The assemblies would stand dissolved on March 16 after which the caretaker government would hold polls in two months."
He added that a caretaker government, acceptable to all, would be established so that nobody gets opportunity to derail the democracy. "Country is passing through critical phase and it cannot afford such a situation."
Wattoo, formerly a PML leader, said it is PML-N and not PML-Q that has objection on him being the president of PPP Punjab. Wattoo claimed he never compromised on principles and said: "We are doing politics of reconciliation and never use abusive language against opponents."
