Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmud on Sunday said that he would work for improving non-developed areas and the revenue situation, besides playing a constitutional role for the new province of South Punjab.

He was speaking at a dinner reception hosted by him for Punjab legislators. The Punjab governor has called an all parties conference on Monday (today). Makhdoom Ahmed said that he was determined to serve the province with zeal and commitment. The governor stated that he would play his role in achieving reconciliation among political parties, besides working to improve non-developed areas and revenue matters of the province. He said he would play a constitutional role for the new province of South Punjab.

Asserting that his actions would speak louder than words, Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmud he said he represented not a single region but the entire province.

Earlier, the governor met former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The Punjab Governor also sent a condolence message on the demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, the former chief of Jamaat-i-Islami.
