Besides scholars and experts from Pakistan, about seventeen eminent foreign experts from eight countries including India are also coming to GCU to participate in the two-day conference that would begin on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, auspices of GCU Political Science Department (PSD) and the United Nations University's Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH).
GCU PSD Chairperson Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt said that the conference would not only help to produce critical mass of research in the discipline but also encourage local academics to research and formulate indigenous responses to the challenges posed by water scarcity and politics. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman said the conference is highly critical as water scarcity is becoming an increasingly important consideration in the larger political agenda.
