"On Friday evening, a SSGC circular had been received by industries announcing gas loadshedding for industrial sector and complete disconnection of supply for the next two days starting from tomorrow morning," they informed. As a result of this loadshedding the entire industry throughout the provinces will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) for South Zone Yasin Siddik has said that domestic and commercial consumers of two provinces (Sindh and Balochistan) were being deprived of their own natural resource.
He confirmed that SSGC had announced complete disconnection of gas supply for the two days and said current sudden closure for Saturday and Sunday would cause million of rupees loss to the industry particularly textile industry as the announcement was too late by the Company.
"We are unable to cancel many things and to call off the workers from coming to work," he said, adding now industries would have to pay wages to the workers. "Industry is unable to believe that all of a sudden the gas supply had become so short and resulted in shutdown of gas," Yasin said. "It seem to be a part of a plan to sabotage and cause undue loss to the industry of the two provinces," he added.
