The election tribunal headed by a judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC) while accepting a petition held PML-N, MPA Rizwan Nowaiz Gill disqualified for holding seat in assembly on the basis of bogus BA degree. The tribunal by holding Rizwan's election as illegal directed the election commission to conduct fresh election for this seat.

A PPP candidate Dr Nadia Aziz who had lost the 2008 election against Rizwan from PP-34, Sargodha-IIV had questioned his qualification. She alleged that Rizwan had never passed the BA exam. She alleged that Rizwan obtained the degree by tampering the Punjab University record. She requested to declare his election as illegal.
