ZTE Corporation announced successful completion of EVDO Rev-B Network in country for Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), an Etisalat company) which is the biggest CDMA operator in the country. In continuation to evolution from existing technology EVDO Rev-A to EVDO Rev-B, the tests revealed a download speed of 9.3Mbps and upload speed of 5.4Mbps.

This is the first successful EVDO Rev-B application in country. EVDO Rev-B technology is based on EVDO Rev-A using multi-carrier bundled technology. EVDO Rev-A can evolve to EVDO Rev-B and LTE network smoothly through software upgrade as a convenient method to meet current and future development needs of operators.

The successful application with ZTE EVDO Rev-B solution will strengthen PTCL's reliance to deploy large-scale EVDO Rev-B network. PTCL can put into practice its capability to offer a faster 3G network in Pakistan where users can enjoy exciting and faster broadband experience. ZTE will use its SDR (Software Defined Radio) platform to provide EVDO Rev-B services in Islamabad, Faisalabad and other major cities.-PR
