Senator Envar Baig has asked Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt to immediately resign after his unsatisfactory briefing to Senate's standing committee for sports.

PCB chairman Tariq Butt failed to satisfy the committee about Javed Miandad resignation during a meeting of Senate's standing committee for sports, presided over by Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry on Monday. Neither Miandad had signed a contract nor he received any cheque, Butt said, adding that his appointment without any contract was the biggest mistake.

The committee has asked chairman PCB to explain the terms on which Miandad appointment was made. The committee severely criticised chairman PCB and senator Envar Baig has asked Ijaz Butt to quit immediately, sources revealed.

Chief Operating Officer PCB Saleem Altaf, chief selector Abdul Qadir, former director general Javed Miandad, coach Intikhab Alam, former officials PCB Shafqat Naghmi, Nadeem Akram and Sports Minister Aftab Shah Jilani were also present in the meeting.
