The City District Government (CDGK) will soon start work on Malir River Bridge at a cost of Rs 1057.953 million, to be completed in two years. City Nazim Naimatullah said that the bridge would join Shama Chowk Shah Faisal Colony and Singer Chworangi, Korangi 8000 Road. The bridge would be 1350 metres long and 23.60 metres wide. The bridge would facilitate the traffic from Landhi and Korangi.

Agha and Company has been awarded the contract to construct the bridge.

Charged Parking: CDGK has decided to start charged parking at 16 different places in the city from June 6, 2005. The areas are Haydri Market from 10 am to 10 pm; Hill Park from 11 am to 12 pm; Sports Complex Ground from 9 am to 9 pm; Karachi Zoo from 9 am to 7 pm; Clifton Aquarium 5 am to 12 pm; Jahangir Kothari Clifton from 11 am to 12 pm; Glass Towers (covered nala) from 8 am 5 pm; Crystal Court Clifton from 9 am to 8 pm; Sasi Arcade Clifton from 9 am to 11 pm; Paradise Centre Clifton from 9 am to 6 pm; Safari Park from 9 am to 8 pm; Civic Centre from 9 am to 5 pm; Sinbad Clifton 5 am 11 pm; Clifton Centre 9 am to 6 pm; and Bara Dari from 9 am to 9 pm.

Parking fees in these areas will be Rs 10 for car and Rs 5 for motorcycle per day. Permanent parking for cars Rs 200 and motorcycles Rs 100 per month.

Faiz-e-Rehman Art Gallery Rs 20 per day (only for cars) and monthly fees is Rs 500.

Complaints can be registered against charged parking with District Officer (Revenue) Finance and Planning Department CDGK.
