He was laid to rest in a graveyard in village Majeed Keerio around 6.30 pm earlier late Imdad Muhammad Shah was shifted to Peoples Medical College Hospital (PMCH) by employees Bilawal, Piyaro and the driver where doctors tried to save his life but he expired.
Syed Imdad Shah was born in Sann, district Dadu on December 30, 1935. He obtained primary education at Sann and higher education at Karachi. He passed law degree from Hyderabad Law College and practised for two years.
Imdad Shah took part in the campaign against the martial law of late President Muhammad Ayub Khan and later ran the election campaign in favour of Fatima Jinnah, sister of the founder of Pakistan.
He was elected as member provincial assembly from Taluka Sakrand, Nawabshah district in 1965. He was a great supporter of education, especially for girls of remote areas and managed to establish a number of government schools in his constituency.
Syed Imdad Shah declined to join Pakistan Peoples Party when invited by PPP's founder late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Imdad Shah joined Awami League of Shaikh Mujeebur Rehman of former East Pakistan.
He played a key role in forging an alliance of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and also played an important role in establishing Pakistan Organisation of Nationalist Movements (PONM) and bringing the nationalists to one platform.
Syed Imdad Shah is survived by three sons, ex-speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Jalal Mahmood Shah, Chairman Jeay Sindh Mahaz Syed Zain Shah and Dr Ziauddin Shah and four daughters.
He was among the leaders of Syed Association Sindh and had deep contacts with Pir Pagara, Altaf Hussain, Professor Ghafoor Ahmed, Sardar Attaullah Khan Mengal, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Dr Abdul Haye Baloch and a number of top leaders and politicians.
