He announced the Rs 100 million grant during his speech at a dinner hosted in his honour by Sukkur Zila Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah at the Circuit House here.
He said Rs 50 million will be disbursed immediately, and the remaining amount will be given next year.
The prime minister said his government was committed to bringing social and economic reforms in all walks of life, and no discrimination would be made among the provinces or between the districts.
He said that poverty would be reduced by deploying all state resources, and in this context, he sought help and co-operation of all segments of society, adding the problems can be tackled through dialogue, and strongly criticised those who were fanning public sentiments through demonstrations and sit-ins. This was an attempt to take political mileage on non issues, he said.
The prime minister said his government had full grip on the situation, and would not allow anybody take law in their hands, adding that Pakistan is our first and foremost priority, and nobody would be allowed to shake its solidarity.
Earlier, Zila Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah spoke about the problems of Sukkur and assured the prime minister of full support and co-operation in the task of social and economic reforms.
