USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week.

Net Upland sales of 198,800 RB were 65 percent below the week earlier and 51 percent under the prior 4-week average.

The major buyer was China (96,600 RB, including late reporting of 900 RB), with smaller quantities to Turkey (51,300 RB, including late reporting of 9,900 RB), Indonesia (15,200 RB, including late reporting of 700 RB), and Hong Kong (11,000 RB).

Optional origin sales of 33,000 RB for China-all switched from US origin-were reported for delivery in 2003/04 bringing the total to 158,400 RB.

Net sales reductions of 1,600 RB for delivery in 2004/05 resulted as increases for Thailand (2,200 RB), South Korea (800 RB), and Indonesia (400 RB) were more than offset by decreases for Turkey (4,300 RB) and Japan (800 RB).
