This was stated by Wapda Chairman, Tariq Hamid while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony of Wapda Sports Board here at Wapda Sports Complex.
Members of Authority, senior managers, sports officials and a large number of Wapda employees, besides national sports officials and players were also present on the occasion.
Tariq Hamid said that hard work, determination and urge for win were the key factors behind every success.
He advised the players to exhibit the discipline, learnt by them through games, in their daily life as well.
Commenting on the historic performance of Wapda players on national as well as international sports scenario, he proudly said that such players were not only the national heroes but also the valued son of Wapda.
He urged the players to further excel so as to bring more laurels for Wapda and Pakistan.
President Wapda Sports Board, Brig. Najam-us-Saqib, who is also General Manager (Administration) Wapda, in his welcome address stated that presently Wapda was national champion in 17 disciplines of games which was a record.
Earlier, Chairman Wapda, Tariq Hamid inaugurated newly added facility of well equipped with latest gadgets Fitness Club.
He also gave away prizes to the Wapda players and sports officials to acknowledge their outstanding performance on the sports scene in the last year.
The Chairman's Trophy for overall first position in inter-unit Wapda sports went to fesco, Patrons Trophy for the second position to Lesco and Presidents Trophy for the third position to NTDC.
