The scrutiny fee for private housing colonies has been trimmed from Rs 25,000 to Rs 10,000.

This decision was taken by the Governing Body of the FDA that met here on Wednesday with Chairman FDA Mumtaz Ali Cheema in the chair.

He said that this step has been taken to facilitate the developers and discourage mushroom growth of illegal housing schemes in the city.

In this connection, the development charges to provide water supply and sewerage facilities in private housing colonies have also been reduced while FDA and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) will formulate a uniform policy for the approval of private housing colonies.

The governing body of the FDA has also allowed a last chance to the allottees of Ahmed Nagar to regularise their allotments by clearing dues up to December 31, 2004.

The meeting was also attended by Director General FDA and Managing Director WASA in addition to the representatives of DCO, Housing, Finance, and P&D Departments.
