The Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) said its eastern market indicator (EMI) gained two cents to 779 cents a kg clean at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.

AWEX said at Wednesday sales, its northern indicator (Sydney) rose two cents to 796 c/kg clean, while its southern indicator rose three cents to 764 c/kg clean.

In Fremantle, the western indicator rose one cent to end the day at 748 c/kg.

In Sydney, finer microns were generally 10 cents dearer when compared with pre-Christmas levels, with better styled types most affected.
