"So now we are accused of supplying technology to Libya?"

"What sort of technology?"

"To make nuclear bombs."

"Well, so it has been alleged in a British newspaper."

"If memory serves me right I want to draw your attention to two events. First, Z A Bhutto's coup de grace was the start of a nuclear programme."

"Yes those were the days."

"You a die hard Jiyala of the old guard?"

"No, I mean those were the days when a civilian government, through diplomacy, got the plan started. I mean I know Mian Sahib and then the army generals claimed the accolades when we did test the bomb but it was Bhutto who started it all. And besides at that time Muslim countries could embark on a nuclear plan and not be accused of being terrorists."

"The Americans had the Soviets at that time to keep them busy."

"Ah, it is indeed so necessary to keep the Cheney's and the Rumsfeld's busy."

"Right. Anyway the second event I want to draw your attention to is the statement by El Baradei that Libya was far from acquiring nuclear capability."

"There are tensions between IAEA and the US - the latter are accusing him of not knowing a thing about chemical and biological weapons and insisting that they also be allowed into Libya."

"Is there any other country with the US in this request?"

"Well, the Americans are talking to poodeland's officials."

"Ah, but of course."

"So the Iraq syndrome is repeated. But I thought Bush and his poodle were happy that Libya had accepted responsibility for the Lockerbie bombing and her willingness to pay substantial compensation to the victims families would rest the entire matter."

"But Bush and his team has now decided to take matters into their own hands. The go it alone with the poodle approach paid off dividends in the past it may do so even now."

"So was the allegation made by the British newspaper correct?"

"Don't know. I mean our FO has said they would investigate it if asked to. But they have already admitted that some of the scientists made individual deals with some countries so I guess they have no trouble adding Libya to the list."

"I like this approach - admit it and then move on. Good approach that. Now if only our government would admit to some of the other things it has done so we can move on as a nation."
