WorldCALL Communications Group (WorldCALL) on Wednesday signed a multimillion-dollar contract with the world's leading Telecom and IP industry solution providers namely M/s Siemens, Cisco and Nuera Communications for a turnkey supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a state of the art next generation network (NGN) covering services for Long Distance and International (LDI) and Local Loop (LL) telephony services.

Under the contract signed with Siemens, WorldCALL is deploying a countrywide network comprising of Soft Switches.

Media Gateways, IP Infrastructure and Voice over Cable gateways. With the launch of this network in April 2004, WorldCALL will be the first private operator in Pakistan and one of the select few in the region, to be offering a mix of voice (telephone), data (internet) and video (cable TV) through WorldCALL Multimedia Limited and WorldCALL Broadband Limited.

WorldCALL is investing in a Network Solution that is highly flexible, scaleable, cost efficient, easy to manage and offers quick-to-market new revenue-rich services.

This network will power the local loop services for telephony for our HFC plants in Lahore and Karachi through WorldCALL Multimedia Limited and WorldCALL Broadband Limited.

The strong synergies expected between the above mentioned network and WorldCALL's existing pay phones and pre-paid calling cards business will lead to even higher financial returns.-PR
